Graduation Project
This project was made for my graduation project for my Bachelor in Graphic and Digital Media, studied in Arteveldehogeschool, in Gent, Belgium.The project focuses on the visual rebranding of Tallinna Nõmme Basic School (hereafter referred to as Nõmme Põhikool), an Estonian primary school. The project aims to create a playful, modern, and coherent visual identity that reflects the school’s values while supporting consistent communication across both print and digital platforms.
But above everything else, it resonates with the students and makes them excited each morning to go to school.
If you ask anyone from Nõmme where their roots are, many would point to the pine forests that define the area.
In much the same way, Nõmme Põhikool helps shape the roots of the children growing up here, providing the foundation from which they learn, grow, and flourish.The concept for this project takes inspiration from Estonian proverb “Käbi ei kuku kännust kaugele” in translation “Pine cone doesn’t fall far from the tree”. But if this was put in context of a school it would reflect very traditional system with fixed expectations and uniformity.
